I am sorry to all those Indian culture guards, I do not understand what do you mean by Indian culture!!! Which culture are you mentioning here? Do you know what ‘Indian’ means? We have hundreds of culture packed inside a single box called India and I belong to one of them. If I follow my culture I am being by your same Indian culture guards.
If i speak my language I am seen down by your same Indian culture guards. If I speak up for my rights you call me a fanatic or advise me to go along with the main stream!!! Now please explain me what is main stream culture in India!!!
I know certain villages in India which has polyandry as a part of its culture for valid reasons.
For centuries we have been a tolerant country and welcomed anything that was valid. I recently heard a priest on television who said that “we have our own culture, our values our own blah blah blah…and let us not follow westerners”
All I want to tell him is, Sir, if it wasn’t St. Thomas the Apostle who came to India in the 1st century , probably you wouldn’t be what you are today. And I am pretty sure that he was not Indian and he came from the west.
Please enlighten me about western culture that you talk about. I am not aware of it.
If I am not wrong, our Indian values tells us to respect others culture and religion. Or have you ever respected the culture and the way of living of indigenous people living in India!!! And I know our culture does not teach hatred.
Don’t we laugh at men who wear Dhoti, don’t we look down at women who doesn’t wear Jeans and tank top. At least i know people who talk about Indian values and do this.
You say caste system should be eradicated, but tell me, how many of you have your caste name as your Surname. How can we eradicate caste system if we don’t take it away from our names??? Or is it that you don’t want to eradicate caste system as it is very Indian.
People are not keeping quiet because they think that you are our culture guards, its just because they are staying away from filth.
There is a famous proverb in Tamil, “Dushtanai Kandal Thoora Vilagu.” Which means “KEEP YOURSELF AWAY FROM THE EVIL.” That is what we are doing, don’t think that we are silently supporting you. We are staying away from you.
Please try to sync with the common man and do not try to force your beliefs on the common man, there are other places on Earth where you can do that and there is a different name for that, i hope you know that.
Last thing I can say is, I know what my culture is and I don’t need a half baked chauvinist to tell me what my culture is.
