When someone mentions thanni (water) they would confirm if they referred to drinking water.

They swear on their life and say that Pondy is the cleanest place and has the best roads (???) in India.

They prefer two wheeler over car.

They boast that Pondy is a good shopping destination, but would struggle to mention a store name to buy branded shoe .

They consider Pondicherry to be a metropolitan city
Few things I tried to jot down, but I bet there are lot more. Every place has its own charm and the locals love certain aspects which might be odd for others. Whatever it is, I always feel home at Pondicherry and miss it.
