That’s kids for us!

March 12, 2010

Kid I am not fond of kids, wait!, that doesn’t mean I don’t like kids. I am just not comfortable around kids. I lack patience and I am really bad in baby talks. But I get along with kids very well.

After 4 years I got time to visit my college buddy in Jaipur. I was happy to visit him, at the same time I made myself ready to meet his family, his wife and two kids. It means, I have to be bit formal with him when his family is around. However close friends we may be, he is a husband and a father first.

His elder daughter, 3 years, got close to me real fast. I played with her whenever I had time. At times I had to take care of my office work which popped up now and then. One such time she returned from school and asked me to play with her. I told her that I will join her after I finish my work. Then she asked,

“Uncle, why didn’t you bring your kids along, I could have played with them when you are busy.”

I said, “I don’t have kids nannu

“Why?”

“Because I am not married!”

She exclaimed, “Uncle, what is the relation between marriage and kids? why can’t you just have kids without marrying?”

Her mom who heard us, said, “Nannu,  if you keep disturbing uncle I will beat you.”

Nannu said, “You never use your brain to teach me, but only to beat me!”

That’s kids for us. They don’t ask silly questions, rather we term their questions to be silly and childish when we can’t answer!

you can never win a argument against a kid and an old person……they always come up with something you don't have an answer for………

    that's quite normal……

though i love kids and i'm pretty good with them….

Hi Hitesh, True. Its always tough to win kids and elder people in an argument.
That's why most of the time we end up saying "shut up, you are a kid, you don't know" or "you are too old to understand".
