Guestbook
Many moons ago, when there was no social networking sites, when there was no twitter to tweet the only way a visitor could interact with the website owner or the other visitors was through guestbook.
When I was in school, I remember getting my autograph book signed by my friends and teachers. Even today when I open them there is a nostalgic feeling and the memories gush through. The usage of the traditional autograph book has been reduced when social networking sites took over. While web 2.0 makes it easier to communicate and to be in touch with friends, it surely does not give the experience given by traditional autograph books.
Likewise today we have numerous ways to communicate online, guestbooks are almost extinct and old fashioned. But what stops me from having one in my blog? Even if it is old fashioned, even if there are contact forms and comment sections in the blog I feel like having a guestbook as it makes me feel good. You can also discuss offtopic matters here or you can use the contact form if you want to contact me personally.
Ten people who speak make more noise than ten thousand who are silent. – Napoleon Bonaparte
